After seeing your post, I spent some time looking for it. Sometimes it is not easy to search out information, at least with my copy of JTIS. After searching, the only reference I could find was in regard to the bedplate in the engine section which also provides a description of the bearings. I could not find any torque info.
I assume that Sean can direct you on this.
BTW..your XJR is identical to mine, but the pictures of yours look great. Since mine has been a daily driver all its life in Calgary, it has taken some toll. Driving in and out of the current flood zone over the past week has left deposits of silt, not seen on yours. We have quite a mess here.
Good luck with the engine project. I would be curious to hear about the cylinder wall measurements to see if the Nikosil did its intended job.

Typical of Jaguar the crankshaft main bearing grades are stamped on each block and graded individually. If water entered, then for sure there will be water marks on them....
To locate, they're usually stamped not cast on the 4th rib back on the right hand side looking from the front of the engine. like *22222222* these transfer to a colour coded bearing set, the thrust bearings in the centre of the block need replacing too...
From the Engine course code book you can match the bearings off the chart to correspond with the block numbers. They don't wear as much as you'd think, I consider these engines like swiss watches - compared to say Jaguar's XK 6 pot long stroke.
