Default No power steering

Parked car yesterday and allow as fine. This morning cranked and I have no power steering. It has fluid I've had no issues. Pulley is turning and when I turn the wheel it's hard to turn but I can hear the engine change. Is there a filter that could be clogged or am I looking at a new power steerimg pump?

When you turn the wheel is there excessive whine, or any fluid spilt? The level could be low, will it take more fluid? Its rare to have a ps pump fail.

Was low but not empty. It has made no whines or noises. We parks it in garage and then next morning it's like no power steering. If you turn the wheels you can hear the engine "Change". It's like the power assist is gone. I've read about a relay module and found it on eBay. I've also read about the rack. We have had no issues period. Weird. Any ideas?

Since the fluid was low, it is possible there is a leak that has allowed air into the system. You can try bleeding the system: with the engine running and the transmission in Park, turn the steering wheel from lock-to-lock several times to see if things improve. This will open the valves in the rack to allow fluid to flow through the entire system, forcing air into the top of the reservoir. You may need to top up the fluid once or twice and repeat the bleeding if there is a lot of air in the system. If this restores the power assist, then you'll want to find the source of the leak. The low pressure hose from the reservoir to the pump is a very common leak point because it hardens over time. Some of the fittings for the other hoses (pump to rack, rack to cooler, etc.) may have O-rings that can fail (in the parts diagram it appears that some of the fittings may be of the "Quick Connect" type, like fuel line fittings.

Let us know if bleeding works.

Cheers,

Don
