Hello ,
I have a 1998 xj8 I can't diagnose. Tailights and license light just stopped lighting. Fuses all good, did a hard reset (actually, I had the battery off for days). Cleaned battery cables, replaced ground cable, connectors on lamps aren't melted ('m used to finding that).
Is there a module or relay somewhere that controls these?
Thank you

im assuming you checked that the bulbs aren't blown? My sidemarkers were all blown - all four when i bought the car. The tag lights aren't on a relay so either they are blown or something else is shorted. You may check the wiring that runs along the right trunk hinge as I've read in here that a wire can be broken. Your tail lights are on a relay but most likely you have a failed SLCM like I did. I had to bypass it for brake lights and for the tail lights until I can get a new module.
