Default O2 Sensor Replacement Woes

Got the DTC code P1674 "Heated Oxygen sensor, bank 2 open/ shorted" message on Jag 2 yesterday. It seems that any time I've had to replace the upstream sensor on any of the five X308 cars I have had, it's always the one that the most difficult to get to! I honestly cannot recall ever changing the bank 1 upstream sensor....already have the part; installation tomorrow....
Cheers!

I thought the upstream sensor code was P1647.

I always replace O2 sensors in pairs.
They have exactly the same amount of time and miles on them plus I am already in there.

Maybe a typo?

P1646 is not too bad as the sensor is relatively easy to reach on the RH cylinder bank.

P1647 is a difficult job because you must remove the coolant expansion reservoir at the
front bulkhead to gain access.
The grey (Upstream) electrical plugs can be reached by
removing the big plastic trim piece at the front bulkhead. The downstream sensor
plugs
are found underneath the upstream sensors (obviously). The biggest challenge seems to be in
acquiring adequate access to bring your leverage to bear and, of course, sometimes the
part is seized, requiring much more patience and leverage.

Some forum members have discovered that the X-Type upstream sensors do indeed seem
to work fine in the X-308s at a considerable cost savings.
There are available auctions on
ebay for X-Type upstream O2 sensors with the grey square plug, so it's cost effective to pick
up an extra as a spare as time has a way of increasing future costs.

Yes! That was a typical typo for me! Got the new part in but of course broke one of the expansion tank hoses. Stuck a used one on for now and have a new one on order but at least the code has cleared and I'm OK to drive the car. One problem solved, another one to go!
