Oil in air intake box :( 2000 XJR
Hello fellow Jag lovers,
I have recently purchased a 2000 XJR with 75,000km. It is in great aesthetic condition, looks barley used. After a drive with a couple of spirited pulls I noticed oil in the air intake box. A lil on the filter and a couple pooling spots on the bottom of the box.
Do you think I have the dreaded Nikasil engine problem? I’m scheduling the car for a compression test.
If it is unfortunately the Nikasil problem what are my options? Is it better to find a newer xjr engine to replace it? Or have the cylinders re-sleeved?
I absolutely love the car and want to do whatever it takes to get her road worthy.
Thanks for any advice that is given!!
