Oil change with Rotella

yeah i read where this is a great oil for cleaning all the engine and passageways of the VVT and such since it has alot of detergents. So I'll run it for awhile and see if my VVT will start operating correctly. IF it doesn't I guess I'll have to live with it. My tensioners are new so otherwise I'll have to pull the entire front timing cover off and if I'm gonna have to replace the VVT or solenoid I'm told you can't do it without that.

Tire Choices, which one?
Okay been shopping around for tires since this Spring I'm going to have to replace them. When I bought this car it had 4 different tires on it lol. I'm guessing the guy just bought used tires or something crazy. One is a Continental, then a Fuzion, then Yokohama and I'm not sure the last one. Which ones do yall reccommend? I got quoted 88 a tire for the Fuzions.

i would never recommend Fuzion tires, they are pretty poor in every climate Tire Search Results check this website for tires

But I would not be inclined to use it all the time as it's not necessary.
The 15W40 you have chosen will be OK in relatively warm weather but does not function well in a VVT unit when the temp. drops.
The correct Jaguar spec. is 5W30 or preferrably 5W40.
You can use 10W40/50 in warmer months.
Use a good quality oil preferably full syn. and if the car is subjected to a large amount of urban stop start....change oil at 5.000mile intervals and the filter every second oil change.
The VVT's are only present on 4.0 litre non SC engines and work well if the stysrtem is kept clean.
Make sure the electrical connections to the VVT solenoid are clean and secure.

We are on the upper 80s to low 100s for the next 4 months. I'm not worried about the low temps now. From everything I've read, the new diesel oils are superior products to the dino Castrol products recommended by Jaguar.
Doing a lot of searching and reading on this forum, it appears that a synthetic blend oil may be the sweet spot, not full synthetic.

i used the 93 - 98 Grand Cherokee because the air box looks about the same...you'll have to shave the rubber down and make it fit but it will work...i"ve had no issues and my box clamps down on it and its in place pretty good. I'm about to change my oil again with the Rotella and put a new filter on. Just had my transmisison filter changed and new Mercon V put in...tried to have it greased but was told all the fittings are sealed fittings under there...that true guys?

Cutting an air filter to make it fit? All that to save a few $ ?.
If you can't afford to buy the correct filter (btw, napa is way more expensive than oreilly, pep boys, etc) for your car, may be you should get rid of your car and buy something you can afford to maintain correctly.
Sorry if my post sound rude but that was such a bad advise. Air filter specs are more than just size, cfm and design are also very important
