Oil pressure sender?

Oil pressure sender?
i just replaced the alternator on my wife's 03 xj8.... WHAT A PITA... the worst alternator change on any car i have ever done... i thought my Porsche was bad....
So anyhow i broke what i think is the oil pressure switch while prying thr alternator out of the bottom bracket arms.
My question is 2 fold...
i only see one sender listed in the JITS... but there are two senders on her car. one is higher up. the lower one is the one i broke.. with the orange wire..
Well i cannot get a sender for a few days, so i am wondering if the sender is "sealed"
The plastic section broke off. it appears that there is a diaphram in the metal threaded section.
Can i run the car to get it out of the garage so i can get my car in to work on some issues, or is it going to pop out the diaphram and spew oil all over the place?

The OY wire is the oil pressure switch. The other is the Engine Oil Temp Sensor (AJ27)
I would guess that you could remove it and take it to a FORD dealer and match it up.
ALL fords from 1997 or so have oil pressure SWITCHES and not transducers. The gauge is set to read midpoint with oil pressure.
I don't know if the pressure will 'blow' the diaphragm out of the switch assy and leak!!!!
bob gauff
P.S. The warranty time for generator replace is .8 hours. It is really not difficult with the fan assy removed for access. No coolant drain is necessary. I would guess 1.5 hours is a realistic time.
The sensor/control wire harness plug is the most difficult thing about the job!!!!

The thread is a 10Mx1.25 so you might be able to plug it up with a bolt for now. The same size is used on a lot of motorcycles for brake lines.
Or, you could take it out, jam some jbweld in the broken end, and screw it back in.
Of course, it may do you absolutely no good if the switch must sense oil pressure to keep the engine running.
