Thanks Steve. I will have a chat to my friend who brings in containers regularly from Japan, as I know he was looking at expanding into the States, so we might be able to work something out in the future.

Shipping costs go down fast when you're sharing space in a container, rather than using the regular channels

Just a tip; forget express companies, put those rims on a pallet, protect and wrap them tight, and send it through a forwarder as an LCL shipment (Less than Container Load).
If there are no exorbitant forwarder or custom charges, I guess you can do it for some 100 USD per rim, probably less as most containers still go empty back from the US.

Ouch!
About the same damage as one of the cars I have.
Hard to justify fixing.

It's hard to believe that the airbags didn't deploy.

Is it a trick of the light, or do you have a trunk lid spoiler on there?

It looks to have absorbed the impact with fair ease, no real damage beyond the front of the wheel arch.

Are you a cop, or is that one of those tourist-shop NYPD stickers?

Did you have any luck going after the other's company? With current values being so low - the total out very quickly.

The biggest pain is the engine/subframe need to come out in order to replace the frame rails(crush tubes). So unless you have your own frame machine your going to be paying someone to do that part assuming the rest can be done yourself.
I have a 100 just like this.. it's actually the one in my avitar. I might fix it..?
