JLM 20404_3 is the YELLOW coolant for systems up to 1999MY.
JLM 20972_3 is the ORANGE coolant for systems from 2000MY onward.

You can flush and install the XL coolant to the earlier V8s as per Jaguar recommendation TSB 303-11 but the Yellow JLM 20404_3 must be FLUSHED before the Orange is used.

Here is a list of relevant TSBs.

Only if you purchase the 50/50.

The 50/50 is for people who don't know any better, and don't anticipate the need to adjust the mixture.

With water already in the system from flushing, full strength is required just to get into the right ballpark.

The full strength Zerex G-05 is cheaper at Napa than the premix Zerex G-05 at Walmart.

There is a block drain plug for the engine coolant if you want to drain most of the engine. Left side near the back of the block, 17mm 'allen' hex is needed to remove it.

Plums - I was responding to a post about the premixed. Some car companies only sell the premixed. Lexus changed fluid and all cars after 03 use Toyota premixed - the earlier cars get a different fluid sold full strength.

Zerex G-05 is not the correct coolant for cars w/ orange.

Clearly, Jaguar had an issue with the early x308's. Whatever the makeup of the system --- the original green did not holdup given the change interval specified ..... and the yellow obviously was no better and they went to the orange.

They had the same issues with the x300 matrix. I had a problem with my 95VDP ... it actually was the heater valve and electric pump -- but I remember the clogging TSB from back then. My later 98 VDP did not live long enough to have the issue.

With all my cars I do a simple radiator dump and tank cleaning. Then fill with a gallon of the OE coolant (5L for the JAG) and equal amounts of distilled water. It is easy and cheap ...... have not flushed a cooling system in at least 25 years.

I see Dex-cool may be an option for later model Jaguars, but what about models dating before 2001?
