Now there is a small coolant leak somewhere as I lose a few ounces every few monthes. I was hoping it was just the leak & sitting had fouled the knock sensor to clear after drying etc. This leak's baffled 3 shops via pressure test etc. but is has to be in the KS' vicinity ?!

Guess I'm off to hunting a KS & leak ?!
Hi I have an 98 XK8. An I had an issue like this, when you pop open the hood the two corners with plastic covers. Well my tubes got clogged and I had a little bit of water in there. My boots in fuse box were loose also. Disconnect the neg cable and move out of the way. Tightened back down then Unclogged the tubes with a monkey claw and shop vac, propped open hood with bolts. I placed fan next to the finder. By morning I was. Sad to say that was first time my car ever seen rain. Once I fixed tubes I was good to go! Hope it helps.

King Charles is dealing with a coolant leak, not rainwater.

One mystery leak I once had was losing very small quantity of water via a deformed head gasket and the engine just burned some water. Took head off and yes, ONE very clean cylinder ! Nowadays, some cars also have water injection like in WW2 plane engines ...

She may be leakin' but she's freakin' beautiful.14 hours after filling "low coolant light" was on again ?! I checked it cold, not even an inch down from full. I jiggled the sensor w/ my finger the light went off & hasn't returned as of yet. I washed her up, then cleaned my knock sensor out w/ some clever bamboo skewer & microfiber handiwork. Took her out for some spirited sprints to dry everything out. Zero error lights, smooth sailing (I mean it is a land yacht) There's definitely a coolant leak but good to know my KS isn't shorted (yet).
