P1797 ann no starter
Hi guys,
Today after taking a quick drive to town, and parking up I retuned to my XJ and it would not crank, and no sound of solenoid. The battery is only six months old and is good. I called out the AA and they tried swapping relays, then hitting the solenoid before bypassing the starter motor inhibit. Then it started first time as always. Drove it to my independant and asked them to look at it. They said it started fine for them, they pulled a code P1797, cleared it and reset the ECU and on a drive around and stop starts had no further problems.. Is this something I need to be very wary of now, or should it be fine? Many thanks

Here's a few threads on it, it looks like a transmission module issue....

This one appears to be a module self repair....https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-137526/page4/

Thankyou both, I have chipped into the thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-137526/page4/ that was mentioned above and will see how it goes.. I have a roadtrip coming up in a few days so am very wary of this happening to me in the middle of nowhere.
