Default p1797 no asc, trac, gearbox fault FIXED

2002 xj8, 62K miles
I had a post regarding this about 4-6 months ago.
For the data base, now the fix.
Engine when re-starting hot went into fault modes - no trac, no asc, gearbox fault
For months I toyed with this with no joy. This August I took it into a professional Jag shop (not Jag dealer). This shop was recommended to me by members of the Jag club. It is JP's European Auto, Huntington Beach, CA. My first time there and I was impressed by Jags there XKE, XK120 and sedans. And their professionalism and attitude, they listened and understood.

The problem was the ECM and the fix a new (used ECM). Happy to say the problem is gone after driving it for 6 weeks. Below is an image of their work and costs. It is great that they found the problem without the - let's try this - repair process. I would have liked to see them pin test the CAN as they did. If/when more problems I will go back. But someday I will finally give up on the car.
