Just an FYI.....
The car (20K only)was misfiring badly, after being stored in the garage for 2 months, under load and running rough at idle. I checked all the usual stuff, fuel filter, fuel pressure, various voltages, vacuum leaks etc. to no avail.
Finally decided to pull plugs, although with the mileage I was sure there would be no issues.
Pulled left-hand side first, all looked good. Pulled right-hand side and coils and plugs were, to my surprise, rusty. I cleaned everything and made sure no water was present and put it all back together to find it still ran terribly.
So I took it apart again and after looking carefully at the plugs I found two with hairline cracks. Fitted new plugs and bingo, runs like a dream.
I think water must have gotten in at the carwash and I put it into storage immediately after. I think the cracks were probably caused by water splashing on the hot plugs.
Anyway, for what it is worth, that is my story. Hopefully it will help someone else.
