Pad for infact carseat.

On Friday my wife gave birth to our first child, a lovely little girl. We installed the infant carseat base in my wife's DD. But it would be nice to transport the baby in the Jag occasionally. So this morning I tried installing the carrier sans base in the Jag. Unfortunately, the carseat slips on the leather and ends up nose down. I talked to one of those carseat installer experts and they suggested a pad of some sort to increase the friction between the leather and the carseat. They suggested the rubber stuff you use to line the bottom of your silverware drawer, but said sometimes it can adhere to the leather. And that sounds like a bad idea to me. Any expert suggestions or recommendations?

Congratulations on your new family addition! As to the car seat, I have actually put one in my XJR but I use the base so it does fit fine. I "pad" the base by putting a towel down to prevent the base from marring the leather. I would think that the anti-slip stuff the installer was referring to would work just fine if you removed the car seat within a day or so. It shouldn't stick to the seat much in a short period of time.
