Parts required to change trunklock, doorlocks and ignition
Let's say I have to replace the trunklock, doorlocks and ignition switch with a second hand set of locks and a couple of corresponding keys.
What kind of modules do I have to replace too (so that I don't have to program the key to the car)?
I'm guessing that you'll need the key transponder module and maybe the security module.
But I vaguely remember seeing such a 'set' including the ECM.
I can't really find anything on this subject and certainly no concrete list of parts / modules that depend on a car key

Having done this, you don't need to replace the modules only have them reprogrammed via Jaguar's IDS system to the new key code.
The other option is a scrap car's locks and keys, and then the modules needed with the locks would be BPM, SLM, ECM, IPK? possibly key transponder module, but that's just looking for a chip not code? With this route your car needs to be as close a birthdate as the donor, they were updated constantly through manufacture and so was the module software, that's where the V-CATS list comes in. Exact matches for plug and go, non matching means programming so same as just new locks/key set
The simpler option would be to buy a set of locks/key set, (X300 maybe cheaper and work with 308) but fobs need to be 308. Then get them programmed to the car's modules.

Like this set, and find an OBD reader that reprograms or someone with IDS.

I should have mentioned that you do not need to change any modules. Just program your new keys to the key module by a lock Smith.
The early XJ8 had a 13 series chip for the key, later 1999 or 2000 has a different chip I think a 46. The lock smith will need to know what series chip your car has by either reading your old key or using SDD.
If he tries to program new keys with the wrong chip he will lock himself out until the modules have gone to sleep. Just been through all this on my 1998 xjr and 2000 sovereign.
