Pin Stripe for XJ8?

I have enjoyed owning a nice red 1995 Jaguar XJ6 for quite a while now, and I am thinking about moving into a newer XJ8. I have got used to the nice pin stripe that runs along both sides of my Jag, but in looking at all of the XJ8's I have not see one that has those same pin stripes. Maybe my Jag had after market stripes and I never knew it since I don't recall seeing any others now that I think of it (see picture - if it uploaded properly). Are Jaguar pin stripes available anywhere for the XJ8? Thanks.

Pinstripes are a very "American" phenomenon. That's why you see them on Cadillacs - not Jaguars. The pinstripe on your XJ6 is not factory. If you like that look, you will have to take it to an auto detailer or paint shop to have it done. (Pinstripes detract from the elegantly sleek lines of a Jaguar, IMHO, anyway
)That said, do what makes ya happy!

I am also quite fan of them .What I don't like about '98 and up is that I am not keen on 3 big gages .I would prefer the old one .

Actually, believe it or not, Jaguar XJ8s usually come with pinstripes... here in the UK! I think they were removed for sale in the US market. I actually like the stripes on my car - if they are small and subtle (as are the factory stripes) they accent the car quite well. I'm actually an American (been in the UK for four years) and although I rarely saw them in the states, most big cats here in the UK (even some XJRs) come with stripes stock.

Recently while getting my XJ8 Serviced, I was passing time looking at the Dealerships used cars, and spotted pinstriping on a 2007 XJ8, which caught my eye. The 2 slim line pinstripes were broken about half way along the front fender, by a Small Leaper. Looked great, but I have not been able to locate one. I have a small defect in my pinstripe, and would have loved to replace with one of these. Never thought to take a picture, or ask myDealer Service advisor. Anyone seen these before. ???
My 1999 XJ8 has Pinstriping, and as the previous owner was an elderly woman, must assume this was stock. ????

It is quite common for pros to lay the pinstripe tape right over faded painted stripes. When it is done properly, you can't tell that there is paint underneath.
Doing tape stripes without practice and knowledge of the tricks of the trade is not recommended. It ends up looking like the Atlantic Ocean.

My silver 2000 VDP came had a white pin stripe when I bought it. I'm not sure if it was stock or not, but I removed it almost immediately after I bought the car, despite it being hardly visible white on silver. IMO and others I have asked think my car looks newer and better with out it. This is just my personal experience and pin stripes might work well on other XJs, just not on mine.

Sean, if someone could point me towards a leaper tape I would seriously consider having my existing stripe professionally removed and replaced with the leaper tape.
