hey guys im at a stand still on my xjr. i dont get this car out on the road much and its stored in my underground parking stall..... havent tried to start this since december (my bad) but she wont start... heres the facts:
battery completly dead would not start on a boost so i replaced the battery... ive got no fuel pressure at the rail and fuel pump is not running (as far as i can tell)... all fuses fuel related are fine only getting p1111 on the scanner... fuel relay in the trunk clicks on and sends power to my fuel pump fuse for 2 seconds then clicks off... but i dont hear the pump run. car has less than 20k on it... and it ran fine last time i had it out. im wondering if there is some sort of fuel cut off security thing going on...... oh yeah and i have also verified the inertia cut off switch is not tripped.....
any help would be awsome im a cadillac guy i dont know these cars at all

"getting p1111 on the scanner" Forget that one, it simply means the OBDII drive test cycle has not completed. You got that after a reset.
There is a thread here somewhere about no start after sitting up that looked like fuel pumps. And I believe I read that they have some sort of known corrosion problem. If you got power to the pumps at the connector onm top of the tank, and no pressure, then either your pumps are crapped or you have some in tank problem. Its not the worst repair to remove and rplace the tank, buit its a PITA in my opinion.

thanks for this link, im just thinking that withless than 20k on it my pump shouldnt be bad.. guess anything is possible though. the car is in my underground parking with a full tank of fuel so it makes it a bit more diffucult to pull that tank but i guess im not left with any other options.
i just wanted to verify that there wassnt some sort of fuel immobilization switch linked to the security system or somthing crazy like that.

Just kidding, but I'm sure many on here would love to own that car... With those low miles, it must be a beauty. Good luck diagnosing.

damaged the return line but thats what i get for not towing it to my shop and tackling it in my parkade...

Hang on mate, if your going to bust on the cars you have to spell the insults correctly.
The backup sensors I can't answer without looking at a schematic, I don't have enough personal experience to troubleshoot off the cuff. First obvious point would be to check all the fuses.
Is the radio not powering up at all, or you just don't have any reception? Did you try casette or CD operation?

Trunk fuse box, #3, 5 amp. That feeds the radio chassis and the reverse park aid module. If it blows again, look at the two connector plugs at the reverse aid module, left rear of the trunk: maybe you jacked something up when you were disconnecting the wiring for the left rear sidemarker light.
You might also want to look at the wiring harness where it runs vertically up along the right end of the tank: you might have pinched a wire there and shorted that circuit to ground (white wire), if you still had the battery connected when you pulled the tank out.
