Power windows

My 2000 XJ8 VDP has power 1 touch windows (touch the button down and it rolls all the way down weather or not you're touching the button.)
I noticed that this feature does not exist when it comes to putting the windows up.. Is the vehicle equipped with said feature?
It's annoying to have to hold the button to put the window up. Is there any way to enable the one touch up function if it is in fact equipped?
(I have done a hard reset and do the procedure to reset the window by holding the button up/down until it clicks).
Thanks

Without 'anti-trap' circuitry, it would be STUPID AND DANGEROUS to have the UP feature.
There would be lots of people suing Jaguar because their child got strangled or something like that. (the motor will not stop or reverse)
The sliding roof has that feature and LATER model Jaguars also.

Here, read this from the Feds. My eyes and head are spinning with all the legal requirements regarding windows. It's the weekend and I can't digest this:
eCFR ? Code of Federal Regulations

Every GM vehicle I have driven is equipped with said feature, I don't understand why Jaguar couldn't have done it at the time.. Oh Well.
Could you explain a little more what the "anti-trap" thing is? I am not familiar with this.
Thank you!

The x308 derived from the x300 ... you are talking about a car designed almost 22+ years ago -- the x300 came out in the spring of 1994 as a 95 model. It's an old design.
The up feature needs to have "force limiters" or other devises so that a hand or head can't become trapped when the window comes up. This is not a problem going down.
Early cars had limit switches for down .. but most have moved to monitoring amps and motor rotation.

Also, not everybody knows you can have a global close function from the dash, same issues.
As mentioned, I guess this was all in the early technical development, when not all issues were thought over, and marketing required them to introduce it anyway.
Later versions were polished, using other techniques.

The problem with the "auto up" is when kids are playing around -- they could hit the button and have a hand in the way. Years ago the buttons were also easier to lean on and raise the window.

You will also notice that in order to raise a window, you will LIFT a switch in later cars.
Rocker switches in which you depress either end are hazardous because you can lean on the switch with unintended consequences.
A child or pet can depress the switch and injure/kill themselves or others.
I doubt 'fluffy' would be tried and convicted of murder/manslaughter if little Jonny was decapitated with the inadvertent depressing of the window lift switch.
INSTEAD JAGUAR would be sued for allowing such a thing to happen.
Yes we have come this far in our litigious society.
It's all about DEEP POCKETS. (fluffy has NONE)
