The finish on my '99 XJR penta rims has been worn for quite a while now and was wondering what I should expect for pricing if I were to get them powder coated?
Rideordie, got mine done $100 a piece 2 yrs ago by Olympits on Forsythe in Winter Park. He did an awesome job on mine. I only had him strip mine, repaint and clear coat though, not powder coated, ....I'd be happy to show them to ya. I also have a mechanic (same area) to recommend another guy for your wood work (Altamonte) and an upholsterer (Longwood) if you need it.
PM me and I'll get you any or all of there info.
I had mine professionally done. Wheel collision center in Bath PA. All of them needed some fixing / truing up. They powder coat now vs spray -- and clear. Excellent job.
I had Tire Rack send them new tires to be mounted balanced -- I paid about $600.00. Set it up when I was going to be in the area ... they put the new tires/ rims on the car and took the old tires off my winter rims so I could fit just the rims in the car.
@highhorse - Yeah I was considering repainting them myself but not sure if they will fit in my friends sand-blasting cabinet. $100 a piece seems like a good price though, I will look into this more. Thanks for the info!

I had my 16" rims on my '94 xjs powder coated in Greer, SC for $125 ea.
Both of my XJR's on inspection had rims "out of round" ... my winter rims are from a 1998 XK8 and have been through every winter .. other then some curb rash they were true. For the small difference in price it's worth it IMO to get the "R" rims properly inspected at a professional shop that does proper wheel restoration.
