I have a quick question about the bonnet and boot-lid, as these are the last couple parts that I have left to sell other than some interior switches and such. I am trying to get some info together for my eBay ad.
Are they fiberglass or aluminum? They feel far to light to be steel. Is the material on my X308 boot & bonnet panels the same as on the older XJ6 models?
Also, can anyone tell me the color name or paint code of my former Jag. Here is a pic...
There is a difference in weight between the years it would seem, the bonnet on my 99 car was heavier than that on my 2000 or 2002. They're not alloy though because I've had magnets on my bonnet, probably just a lighter composition. The boot lids are defiantly not alloy because I use magnetic GB badges when I drive abroad.
I'm sorry I can't help with the colour code though, unless you've got the codes off the plate under the bonnet or inside the door frame.
The only sticker under the bonnet is the VIN. The car is gone so I cant reference the door tag.
If you have the VIN, you should be able to get to the color code, either a dealer or maybe one of the various decoders on the web.
And I should say TOPAZ, but just a guess.
