question on sliding roof
Since I am replacing my headliner, and retrieved the small slider, the one that gets lost in the back. I made some clips to hold it in place of the arm it attaches to, but noticed the springs are broken and not long enough. Is there any reason for these springs, are they necessary. Attached is a picture with the part circled for better reference of what I am talking about.
Thanks All

best way to proceed is to buy a good sunroof assy. from a salvage yard and just exchange it.the problem is you'll have to paint it.i've worked on these before and theres no joy to the job,i've installed new headliners on a few of my own and would never do it for a customers car as its a thankless job.by the by,as I recall the springs are riveted .if your good with your hands you can drill and replace, but finding the proper springs will be a chore
