A quick rant...botched work seen any lately???
As I've always worked on cars, professionally and as a hobby I can honestly say a little knowledge is a very bad thing when repairing Jaguars. I've been shocked on many occasions by other peoples work to 'fix' a car.
I've taken the time to read and learn about a job before I tackle it.
Today I guy rings me after a service to his XJR, 'it's down on power mate' - I have a look and see the tech hadn't put the Supercharger belt back on after renewing the auxiliary belt, un-effing-believable. I despair sometimes
Lets here the botch discoveries out there!

I went to San Diego to take a look at an XJ8- dusty, won't start- just the kind I like to buy.
I walk up and immediately notice it was repainted black over BRG. Really? The point I walked away was when I saw that the entire harness to the throttle body had been cut to try and bypass the connection and start it without the CAN system. I looked at the seller and asked why in the world his mechanic did that, shook my head and walked away.
