Hello,

Im having an issue with XJR 100 w Brembo brakes.. After long standing I have started a replacement all four rotors, pads and parking brake parts but as always things not go so well. Rear dust shield were rusted and already had some damage. Two upper bolts broke already. Other two not moving at all. What is the best option to take them out? Maybe someone been in same situation and have a solution. Thank you for the help.

 

I had to remove a couple dust shields recently. One came out surprisingly cleanly with my 3/8" impact on its lightest setting and the blots just walked out. The other one I snapped the head off one bolt and on the next one my torx bit shattered...lesson here is I'll have to get impact torx sockets next time.

If the bolts are really stuck, soak the hell out of them with penetrating oil and give them some back and forth pressure, but not sharp or sudden. Eventually they'll start to loosen.
