Default Radar

1. Jaguar XJR

The Jaguar XJR gives drivers a smooth ride and an opulent interior. As the least- ticketed car in America, it also seems to provide the ability to fly under radar guns. There's a feature they won't tell you about at the dealership.

Anyone knows what is this device, they won't tell us about?
Here in the UAE, after 160km, or 100 miles you get a nice photo of your speeding car for the family album, plus $200 fine.Anyone who can help?

Yes, you need a radar detector, assuming they use radar to trip the cameras.

Look at Escort 8500/9500 models, Bel STi, and Valentine One. Don't waste your time on anything else.

I believe they use a laser in the speed cameras, and if so, then you are already caught by the time your radar warns you about it.

If it's the non-laser type, then a radar detector should be ok.

And they catch you from the back, i mean after you pass the camera, and a photo is also done.from the rear of the car. This means is not a laser, which could catch you from far, coming.

While the laser is very capable of catching you from afar, it can also be used to trip the camera because it is VERY accurate on timing. And the reason for the photo being taken from the rear is to show the rear license plate as not everyone wears one on the front of the car, at least here in the US, in some states.

There appears to be three different types of speed camera sensors. Laser, Radar, and Electromagnetic Strips in the Road (Like the sensors used to trip a Red Light to Green) Two strips are spaced a set space apart, and the time it takes you to cross both determines your speed.

I am by NO MEANS a speed camera specialist, but there is some good reading at this link:

http://www.lordpercy.com/speed_cameras_explained.htm

Good luck, and I hope you never get your photo taken by one of these. Knock on Wood Steering Wheels

Default Avoid your Photo being taken by Speed Cameras

I just tracked down a "Sure Fire" way of avoiding your photo being taken.

See the video found here:

I hope this helps someone.

Thanks Super tech, i enjoyed the videos!
As they already catched me couple of times, (each time 200-300 usd fine), and the distance Abu Dhabi -Dubai is only 130 km, with 25 fixed cameras all over the highway in both directions, here is the task:
We all try to invent a ...spray, that when we spray the number plate with, it doesn"t show in the photo, kind of reflecting the flash light or so.
Would be sell item No: 1 all over the world! Hahahahaa. And finally we can get rich!
