When I hit bumps there is a rattling noise coming from the rear underneath the car that sounds like something is loose, but I can't see that anything is. Exhaust pipes look solid, no play there.. it's a sound of rattling metal.

I'm wondering if it could be the suspension? What is the typical life of shocks on a X308 XJR?

Any ideas or suggestions welcome. Thanks!

 

Heat shields? Internal failure of a muffler?

 

Yeah I suppose it could be anything. Will need to get it up on a lift and start pulling and tapping I guess.

 

have you done a brake job lately? check the antisqueel pads and the hardware on on the outside. There is a wire that clips in under tension and it could have popped out.
