XJ (X308) Rear Bumper R&I - JTIS extracted PDF file
Hi
Here is XJ (X308) Rear Bumper Removal & Install instructions & illustrations I extracted from the JTIS21 to create this PDF file:
XJ (308) Rear Bumper R&I.pdf
The 2 bolts that secure the bumper to strut (described in step 5) are located next to the end of each the exhaust tip. Working from driver side towards the center, 1st you will find the driver side exhaust tip, next to this exhaust tip is the 1st bolt, now look past center towards the passenger side and just before reaching the passenger side exhaust tip is the 2nd bolt.
ie - driver side exhaust tip, then 1st bolt ------> then past center --------> then 2nd bolt, then passenger side exhaust tip.
Look at the open area space where the exhaust tips come through the bumper, this is where you can access these bolts.

just did this a few weeks ago. You have to undo the wiring clip for the two lights on the side of the bumper. If you have parking sensors you have to unclip all the wiring for those. Then the 2 bolts like everyone else said. Then you can pretty much pull it straight back, helps to have 2 people. I did it by myself with lots of towels to lower it down on. It's not that heavy, but heavier than I thought it would be
good luck
