Jag was a 3-rd car and has been driven to not so often, more for my pleasure or I just fixing something, because it was purchased from a barn/garage after sitting there 6 months. But last week my other car was totaled and I had to install the child seat in the Jag. However long base do not provide these anchors, but under the rear shelf, we have mounting points for that! That's why I love the Jags, they do not try to save a couple of feet of wires or a couple oz of metal and drop the whole stuff in the cars.
So I found the set of 3 anchors and put it in the car. For these operations, you should not remove the shelf - just cut the holes in the leather on the top. But I decided to take it off the shelf and put some soundless material on the back under the foam rubber.

So I have an extra 3 anchors but without cover and bottom washers (you can add any other by your eyeball). If you need it, just let me know🫡

Anchor points weren’t compulsory for most countries except for a few when these cars were built, hence why they weren’t installed standard. You could order them as an option, but the majority of first owners of these cars were unlikely to be fitting child seats in them.

 

Does anyone know if I remove one of the anchors on my ‘03 VDP if there is room to pass the cord from a solar panel trickle charger through into the trunk area? Without going into chapter and verse on a weak battery with few charging options, this approach appeals to me to give me a slow charge (maybe a half-amp per hour) into a car that’s only driven on weekends, if that.
