Default Rear view mirror and centerconsole

Hi all, newbie here, I have a rear view mirror on my '99 XJ8 V P, which has a dark area on the lower 2/3rd of the mirror face, is there anything I can do about it, or do I have to get a new mirror.
Also my center console is the model with the car phone, which takes up most of the room. Not having the phone, I removed the phone cradle, but there is a large hole in the box where the wired connections came through. Is there a replacement box from a model with no phone that will fit? I'd appreciate any advice here.
I've attached photos to demonstrate.

The lower portion of the mirror is what it should look like, it is a gel/fluid that has started to leak.
There is a company in the US that can repair them, I believe they may be th original supplier?
I have just purchased one (incorrectly as it happens) from Jaguar Heritage Spares in the UK
No idea on the centre console I have the phone as well but it is useless as it is analog and we are now 3 or 4g

The Console Cubby boxes are available. I had stacks of them when I worked at the dealer and installed radio telephone units and the kit used the shallow box.

I used to save all the original ones. There should be thousands in salvage yard cars. They should all the same for the X300 and X308 sedans.

Used console bins are available. I removed my phone also and replaced the bin.

Thanks for the rearview mirror repair link, King Charles, it's cheaper than a replacement one on eBay, mine's a 6 wire type, $175+.
Samilcar, appreciate the eBay link to the console bin, still a bit pricey though, I'll live with what I have for now, until it drives me nuts.

If you find a replacement center console well from a wrecker it can be cleaned up with some dish soap and a toothbrush as the glue stays put and makes a world of difference especially on the dirty edges . Try it with the one you have if unsure . Just tilt it up to drain during drying .
