Default Brake update

Hey everyone I wanted to follow up on some things in this post. After nearly a year the new rotors I bought warped. No big deal because the guy I bought them off of was great to deal with. All I needed to do to have them replaced under warranty was to have them inspected at a certified shop and documentation that they are indeed warped. I got the new ones in the mail in about a week and ordered some rears for $60. The rattle in the front end was the backing plate on the driver brake pad. I was able to clip it on better with a pair of pliars and a screwdriver. I also added a small amount of high temp atv to the back to keep it stuck on good and snug. I want to mention the reason they warped so quickly was the weather and rust. I drove for a short time in the winter with salt on the roads. Then she sat for about 3 months and was never moved. I cleaned the bottom of the car before parking it but didn't get the brakes that well. It was doubtful that having them turned would fix the problem because the corrosion was so deep. Oh well, next time I think I will get the redstuff pads. I've heard good stuff about them.

Reds stop the car great, but they're VERY dusty

My cars sit all the time and I never have any problems with the brakes other than some minor surface rust on the rotors.

The issue .... cheap aftermarket parts. If you did not do the work yourself the parts you purchased would have cost you more in labor then OE.

Plus agravation.

FYI ... I normally use a pressure bleeder.

Yeah the rotors were cheap. I'm not too upset though because I did save a lot of money. Sometimes OE parts are the way to go. Other times not. Hopefully my new rotors will last longer than the last set. If not I'll just get new ones every year under warranty until they stop that. I still have a lot of pad left. It's a super quick fix so I'll take the savings. I'm driving a pretty sweet Jag, worth the aggravation any day!
