Default recommendations on sourcing items?

Hello,
I realize a response may not be appropriate so please email me or PM.
I just got my 2003 XJR and amazed at how pristine the car is. there are a few misc. items that need replacing, primarily small trim items. Are there any recommended suppliers of interior trim parts? I am mostly in need of:
1. sun visor clips
2. roof handle end pieces (the part that covers the bolt), etc.
3. The car also came with only one key and no remote - so need at least one key and remote fob.
4. Owners manual

Any help would be great! Thanks in advance

Sounds like you either need to visit a dealer, or watch the listings on FleaBay.

Oh -
You can ONLY get another key from a dealer. Mine cost $300. So be prepared to bend over. On the other hand, the remotes are available online, and you can program them yourself. Directions are on this site, just search.

Welcome to the forum
Internet search on 2003 jaguar XJ handbook brought up Ebay Listing (230807427292) that has all of the handbooks in used condition - $96 with shipping.

Lists Drivers, Drivers Supplement, Audio Systems, Vehicle Care,XJ Quick Reference, Operating Highlights, Passbook to Service, Security Radio Information, Safety Advice Card, Jaguar Dealership Directory & Atlas, Jaguar OEM black portfolio (book cover for handbooks that go in the trunk).

Photo in listing also shows green Jaguar handbook portfoilo cover for Driver, Driver Supplement and XJ Quick Reference handbooks that go in the glove compartment.

If you want to download the Handbooks, we have the 2000 XJ Drivers Handbook PDF file and the 2000 XJ Vehicle Care Handbook PDF file, here are the weblinks:

Drivers Handbook:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a..._handbook1-pdf

Vehicle Care Handbook:

The 2000-2003 model years are pretty much for same and handbooks are very similiar.

In addition to the above, you can find keys online. I bought an uncut key with remote fob on ebay from seller "remotes.inc". The dealer cut and programmed the key for their standard charge, but I saved over $200 on the key. (They did say that they will charge for cutting and programming, regardless of whether the key works or not. Of course they can't warranty someone else's key.) Mine appears to be genuine Jaguar and works just fine. (This was for the '05, but you can find them for x308's as well, easier if it doesn't have a transponder.)

For little things like interior trim parts, it's either a trip to a salvage yard or a call to Land Rover Parts | Jaguar Parts | Coventry West, Inc. for me.

I see you are in Nashville, welcome to the forums!

Thanks all for your help. I am still trying to decide if I am going to keep the car or not but this is very helpful information for me. Thanks again.

Default Remorse?

Perhaps a little. I really like the car but it may draw more attention than I anticipated. this one is so clean and in near perfect shape that it looks like a brand new car. My BMW 3 coupe slipped under the radar at work. The Jag gets a bit more attention. I have to pick from the two cars and it has proven to be a harder decision than I expected.

Flip a coin, make a profit and move on if you're struggling with owning a Jag...

I bought my sun visor clips from Captain Jaguar off eBay. Came in sealed package and looked OEM.

I like SeanB's advice.

Attracting attention goes with the territory when you drive a Jaguar. They may be understated but they don't go unnoticed.

trending towards keeping it. i just can't stop looking at it. Interesting development, should I decide to let it go my coworker will buy it from me. Offered me my purchase price on the spot.
