Default Refreshing the gauge cluster needles inquiry.

Anyone here repainted their gauge needles, are they super fragile & would I be inviting disaster by handling them ?! If so what paint & color.

Thanks

On a 1988 Mercedes 300 SE, I painted the needles dayglow orange with a small brush after applying white gauge face decals. I slipped a piece of paper under the needles so as to not foul up the white faces or attempt to remove the needles themselves . The paint was bought at a craft store. After about a year the paint faded dramatically.

Exactly like that ...
It is rather easy to take the gauges out and disassemble, and I should indeed not remove the needles.
On the color, I like the white actually, specially with the backlight at night .... maybe a red tip only?

Going to do the Real Gauge upgrade so I might as well hit everything while in there.
