Default Remove PEDAL BOX/BRAKE BOOSTER X308

I have to remove the pedal box (black plastic tower that brake booster is attached to in engine bay), from the 1999 XJ8 4.0 x308.
In the manual it says the entire pedal box, brake booster master cylinder will come out as one piece along with the pedals it seems, its all ok.
However in the maual it says to remove the 6 nuts from the footwell area, I did that yet the pedal box wont come out, nor budge. I noticed there were corresponding nuts on the pedal box from the engine compartment area, so I removed them also incase thiere is a variant wrt what the manual says.... again no luck, pedal box wont move.
Any ideas for removing the pedal box without breaking it plastic construction?

regards
Peter

Got your pm.

I haven't done the job myself, but according to JTIS it appears that you
are on the right track.

However, the gasket may be sticking to both the flange and the box due to
old age. Maybe you need to give it a healthy but non-damaging wiggle to
see.

BTW, ebay can be a great source of pictures of any part where you
may be having difficulty seeing in situ.
