Hi Avern ,
damage to sispension ??, you’ll have to explain that please as can’t get my head around how the suspension knows if it’s poeered or not
I do understand that autos can be damaged as the box is spinning due to diff feedback but no pump is running so oil starvation can occur
I disconnected drive shaft to isolate auto box from drive source
cheers for the feedback

Jaguar does not have anything under the vehicle for an attachment point of tow hooks. The winching onto a flat bed will not damage the transmission. Towing the vehicle with the wheels on the ground for a distance can damage an automatic transmission. I am not positive that applies to the ZF but does on the older GM and Ford transmissions.
Winching on with tow chain hooks from the front or rear will damage bushings and linkages that are not designed for that stress.
Jaguar has a tow hook location front and back for a flat bed recovery truck.

ive disconnected the driveshaft as you say correctly you cant tow an automatic normally but as i've isolated the gearbox from the road wheels its ok....
