Removing trunk badges

Removing trunk badges
My typical system for removing badges was fishing line --slide under and use a sawing action. Not working very well on my XJR .. anybody have a different technique?
Both of mine have separated -- have the "XJR" .. just going to bite the bullet and order the "Jaguar"
I'm going to get a new headliner in this one and get it detailed -- so new badges all around. Including fenders.

When you get the new badges, I'd simply line up the mounting posts on the outside, mark them and die-grind or drill it off, since your tossing them. I've not removed them from mine, but with my work, its what I have to do sometimes to get others equipment off of what I want so I can install the new stuff.

Noticed that I never reported on this.
I used two of the cheap plastic putty knives that you can buy from home depot etc. The have a sharp edge. Use one and insert into side of emblem until it's just cutting into the foam of the double sided tape. Now use the second on top of the first and push it in -- the first putty knife will guide the second and protect the body from any abrasion. I actually needed to use a rubber mallet and give it a few light taps. When I got close to 1/2 way -- I went in from the other side. Mine were still firmly attached -- so this method works.
You can use the same plastic putty knives to remove the side fender emblems. Inset first to protect body and push down from top with second -- the clips will release from the body.
