Default Replacement Badges - XJR 100

Alright.. So when I opened my trunk today, I suddenly realized just how sad looking the rear badges are. The past 14 years have not been good to them.

After doing some searching through the forum, I found that you can buy the trunk release emblem. That's good. However, I could find nothing regarding the Jaguar emblem, or the XJR 100 emblem (did find regular XJR emblems.)

Does anyone make them? Does Jaguar carry them? If so, would they have one for an XJR 100? Or is there someone out there who refinishes them?

I'm tempted to try something like a headlight polishing kit, but I don't want to potentially make them worse.

P/N HXG5995AA : Chrome plinth 'JAGUAR' - LH side (item 2)

If you can't find a supplier in the US, here's one in the UK:
JAGUAR JAGUAR XJR 100 TRUNK LID BADGE HXG5995AA

And one in Germany:
Badge trunk lid "Jaguar" ( XJR 100 ) - Jaguar-Shop.com

P/N HXG5994CA : 'XJR 100' with lock aperture - RH side (item 11)

Again, in the UK:
Trunk Lid Plaque - Parts For XJ Series from (V)812317 to (V)F59525 (X308) | Jaguar Classic Parts UK

Limited Edition badges are usually the first to disappear from inventory and become increasingly hard to find. One of our members with a 'Victory Edition' XKR has been searching for a front bumper badge for some time. If you want to replace your badges, don't be put off by distance!

Thank you!

The Jaguar badge is certainly very reasonably priced, especially in the first link. But 98 pounds ($127) for the actual XJR 100 badge is pretty rough I had planned on buying a complete set of spares, for the very reason that you mentioned. I guess I will wait for now to buy that second set

But I will do it as soon as I can. And once I do buy the extras, I will keep them in a box on the shelf.

Went ahead and ordered both badges.. Thanks again

I do have a couple more questions, while we are on the subject of badges. First, are the XJR 100 leaper turn signals the same as the standard XJR? I am assuming they are, but it never hurts to ask. And in regards to the trunk-release button emblem, what is the proper color? Mine appears to be black, but the replacement version that I found through this forum is green. The green might look out of place on the 100. I guess I could just purchase a new button assembly, but if I can get the emblem by itself that would be preferable.

I thought the Trunk Release Button emblem was Green but JEPC shows P/N GNC3520AA as Gunmetal/Grey.

Grey is correct. I'm in need of a new one too.

Couldn't find the emblem by itself on any sites. One site used to carry it, but it was discontinued. There is one seller on eBay that carries it, but they have it listed for the s-type/x-type. I wasn't sure if that was the same, so I messaged them to verify fitment. If it turns out that it won't fit my XJR, I will just go ahead and buy a new button assembly. Seems like you can get them online for $40-50.

Yup. I went ahead and just picked up a new switch w/emblem. As far as the replacement emblem by itself, the one that I found through eBay is black. Still better than buying the green one though. The seller responded back, and said they are pretty sure that they fit x308's as well.

Nowhere on my car it is identified as an XJ, but I believe I have read somwhere that that is the way it is supposed to be(?). However, both emblems, «Jaguar» and «Sovereign», are slightly damaged. This is rather awkward as they stand out on an otherwise shiny car (when shiny, that is...)

I have read a few threads on removal.., hair dryers and dental floss..? Really? Has anyone here tried this on an XJ8..?

(he is a member of the forums) I'm guessing this would work on the x308 emblems

I removed my emblems to reinstall them. You need to put WD-40 behind the emblems and let it soak and get a plastic putty knife and pull them out, clean the glue from the boot lid with adhesive glue remover spray.

I fitted brand new badges to my XJ Sport the other week, very simple process. Remove the old badges by heating up with a hair dryer and gently manipulate them off the car fishing line is best, but anything that won't scratch will do. Use petrol or adhesive remover to get rid of any remaining adhesive. Ensure the surface you're going to mount the new badges to is clean. Heat up the area and the rear of the new badge to get the adhesive nice and sticky then press into place, ensuring you get it right first time.

The "Sovereign" badge on your car identifies it as being top of the range, which is why it doesn't say XJ8.

Thank you all, when I have ordered and received new ones I'll try to replace them and show you the result. New ones are sorely needed... Whatever has happened to them?

Frost Damage normally. Moisture builds up in them then freezes, causing the damage you've shown us. The little button for the boot is normally affected this way.
