Replacing the EGS51 with a standalone TCM thread
Well, I got tired of trying to figure out a way to reprogram the EGS51 at an affordable price($1300 Euro to $2450 dollars is not worth it in my book) and paying that each time I want to change some parameters, shift points, firmness etc and decided to give this programmable TCM a try as it gives you complete control and also offers some upgrades.
I'm going to use this thread to document the process of attempting to make this work with our cars.
PCS - Powertrain Control Solutions - Transmission Control
I bought this kit new from a fellow who purchased it(never used it) from the dealer supporting the 722.6 trans:

I'm in contact with Russel and he seems to know this controller in and out so hopefully we can get this sorted out and give us Jag guys some more tuning options for our cars.

The Jaguar ecu is expecting a signal every 40ms iirc from the TCM, so when this unit can send that message in these intervals there is a good chance you can make this work. I'll take it the original gear selector can still be used as that one is also sending gear selector state over the CAN.

He is currently working on the TCM to ECU communications for MB and Chrysler, which I know utilize the egs52/53.
With the EGS51 I know it uses a different token as if you plug in an egs52 the ECU throws a code.
Russel mentioned that the PCS TCM can be programmed to talk with the ECU but we would need to know what the ECU is looking for. So if anyone as this data it would be that much easier to make this plug and play.

How about replacing EGS51 by EGS52 like this guy has done for his MB. transmission blue top solenoid modification for faster firmer shifts - MBWorld.org Forums Post #15
