There are several iterations to the V/C gasket set....To insure getting the correct parts for your car, perhaps you should consider getting them from a Jaguar dealer...Many aftermarket sources lump year models together, such that if you don't actually know what you need, you end up in the 'parts return' cycle, thereby eliminating any price discount you might have otherwise gained, and taking lots more time to finish the job....

Ken will take care of you. All the gaskets fit even through their use on the Lincoln LS and Thunderbird. The Jaguar part numbers changed but seem to be interchangeable.

Thank you gentlemen-

I just need to get this leak fixed It is causing periodical check engine lights and OBDII CODES
P0174

I AM UNDERSTANDING THAT THE HISSING SOUND COMING FROM BEHIND THE THROTTLE-BODY IS THE RESULT OF VALVE COVERS LEAKING.i AM SUSPECTING THIS IS CAUSING A DISRUPTION IN MY VACUUM LINES i HAVE CHECKED EVERY VACUUM LINE AND I CANT FIND A THING WRONG

I HAVE A LEAK SO BAD THAT THE UNDER BODY AND EXHAUST WAS COVERED IN OIL THAT MY MECHANIC ASKED ME TO HOSE IT DOWN BEFORE HE COULD DIAGNOSE .i BELIEVE THE PREVIOUS OWNER NEGLECTED THIS SIMPLE SERVICE.

Did you check the part load breather tube from the left valve cover under the supercharger to the throttle body?

Google Chris's Foreign Auto Parts, he's in NJ. I'd suggest if you're going this far that you replace the VC bolt gaskets, plug seals, VVC gaskets, and the VC gaskets themselves. I just finished a full timing component job and got a kit from them that had every thing I needed including the options for different VVC setup (I finished with extra parts). I saw a bunch of info that indicated you had a different color gasket for left and right valve cover. I got 2 black gaskets and it took about 10 seconds to figure out which one went on a valve cover, no idea why they'd need to be color coded.

You are going to need a couple of dabs of RTV sealant to put at the front cover/head joint. Some replace the VVT solenoid grommet/seal on the AJ27 engine but am unfamiliar with the front mounted AJ26 solenoid. Didn't see that in the picture.

Jimmy you need shorter tensioner bolts x4. Also hissing from the cam covers???thats a new one to me sure its not a vacuum line, the tb gasket, the fuel rail pressure reg vac line etc....

Jim,
The "hissing" sound and the codes are definitely NOT caused by the leaking cover gaskets. It's most likely the vacuum line that goes from the driver side (US) cam cover to the back of the engine and connects to a T splitter around the throttle body. I had mine crack at the T, and it was making pretty loud hissing, and make the engine run really rough.

Also, once you pull the ignition coils out, expect so see oil in the spark plug wells... Make sure you siphon it out...

The easiest way to get the oil out of the spark plug tube is to cover it with a rag and use an air hose to blow it up into the rag.

I got caught using the turkey baster to siphon out the oil.
