Restricted performance came up twice

My wifes car came up with restricted performance twice yesterday.
We replaced the A Drum last year. Car runs fine and no check engine light is on. The check coolant reservoir light comes on but car is not low on coolant and does not overheat.
Thanks for the great site!

restricted performance will log a code in the OBDII - you need to give us these codes to point you in the right direction, either buy a cheap code reader or get the car scanned at a local motorfactors, I read Pepboys? can do this for free. Once you have them post here for an answer.
By the way, the low coolant is fixed by what I call the finger trick, open the coolant rez and locate the float, this is binding on it's shaft, if you finger it up and down the shaft a few times to clear the scale buildup it'll go away.

Hi
After I had the cooling system flushed and refilled by a local indy garage, the coolant warning came on and stayed for several days. I told the mechanic and he said that the float sometimes get stuck after the service is done.
I got it to float by using a medium sized plastic spoon to stir the coolant in the reservior. The coolant warning light went out and I had no problems since.
Worked for me.

I think you will find that the RP is not related tot he other issues.
You want to get the coolant tank sensor fixed. The float may be stuck .. if not just replace the sensor. You want this working -- with the amount of plumbing incorporated in the x308 - a leak is a real possibility as the car ages ... and you want to be alerted the instant the fluid level drops.
This is one car you do not want to have overheat

I agree with yeldogt - insure that the low coolant indicator is working (my '01 V DP blew the entire coolant load when the plastic neck snapped off the "tower" in the middle of the engine)
Also, I had a "restricted performance" issue. I talked to the dealer and they said "we dunno" we start by replacing the ECM relays. Well, qty 20 (or so) of them @ $16 ea (and which are morked FORD!) is expensive. So I found talked to a EE friend of mine, found out that they are of the resistive type (resistor softend arcing on open / close) and bought them from waytekwire.com (800.328.2724) for ~$3.30 each. I suggest replacing them ALL (you'll need 2 dozen or so). P/N 75701 if I remember (4 terminals, SPST, 50 amp, resistor, mfr= song Chuan)
Problem has gone away and not returned.
