Default Rims for my 2001 XJ8.

Hi all ! I'm a newbie ! I never really cared for any of the rims that were available with my 2001 XJ8, including the ones that came on the car (10 slot 16x7inch, "Starburst", 5x4.75 bolt pattern). I finally found some that I like, that I've seen on an XJ that LOOK"S just like mine....

I believe this is a 1996 XJ in the photo. The seller says they will fit on my 2001 XJ8, I am not sure. They are 16x7", but they may have a different bolt pattern measurement. Can any of you old pros help me out? I also want to add some of those picnic tables for my back seat passengers, but I'll get to that later ! Thanks, Anthony. PS: LOVE MY JAG !!!!!

Jaguar used the 5 on 4 3/4" bolt wheels 'since forever' up until the X200, X350, X400 and later cars.(the X100 and X308 were the last of the 4 3/4")
The wheels will fit unless you run into caliper problems. I don't think standard brakes will cause any issues but SuperCharged cars have larger brakes.

Wheels of the X300 (XJ6) and X308 (XJ8 3.2) are identical in all respects, 16 x 7. The 4.0 XJ8 has 17 x 8 with all other dimensions same as 16 x 7.

Thanks much for the reply! My XJ8 is "standard", so I hope They will fit. I must make sure (checking with my mec). If they don't fit, I'm stuck with return shipping charge 3000 miles ! Have a good day, Anthony.

Thanks for the reply! I have the 4.0 XJ8(standard), but I think it came with 16x 7's. (American market?) Trying to avoid 3000 mile return shipping charge, so I have to make sure they will fit. Have a good day! ,Anthony.

People have had problems with fitting X308 wheels to X300 because of the front wheels with different bearing/vertical link hubs but I don't recall fitting the other way around!

Now that you say that bob, something is coming across my radar as a possibility that an X300 wheel may not fit on an X308. I can't quite put my finger on it. It’s either the center hub size being too narrow or a caliper to rim clearance issue. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t have an X300 wheel to fit on my car to see for the OP.

Pretty sure that relates to the times when some early X300 rims were 15".
OP`s proposed rim are the standard 16" and will fit fine.

Hello. I obviously have a lot to learn. I am not familiar the X numbers. Do they refer to different years of production, or different "series" Thanks, Anthony.

@peantho

I have 5 Jaguar XJR Asteroid wheels (18 inch) that I pulled off my 2001 XJR. I also have boxes for safe shipping as kept the BBS boxes the replacement wheels came in. Please have a look at the link below for a picture of the how the wheels look (Post #16, front wheels are Asteroids). The Asteroids really suit the X308 and I will post mine in the FS section later in the day.

@peantho

Hi Anthony, I have all 5 wheels and also included are new Jaguar center caps. Please reference the pictures below for the wheels on my car before they were taken out for the BBS wheel swap. I also have the boxes the BBS wheels came in and securely box them for shipping. I will PM you shortly as well. Please let me know.
