Rock Hard Suspension!!!
Hi everybody,
I just joined altho I've had my XJR V8 for 3 years. (Fantastic !!!)
The car's a '98, done 70,000m. The computer (a coupla thousand of miles ago) gave me an error message that the Suspension was weird. (Don't know the exact translation coz I bought the car in Germany, so it speaks German!)
Anyway, the result was that the springs went totally solid, at full height. Kinda like a 400hp go-kart.
Now the error is there all the time and the springs don't spring no more. (Sounds like a song...) Great on bends but shaking the car to pieces. Now the error message is there all the time ('Dämpfunsystem Gestört').
Just sometimes, the message goes away and the suspension comes back - makes me suspect it's something small.
The local dealer (I'm in Spain) is useless. Has anybody got any idea?
Thanks in advance and hope 2009 improves for us all! - Norman.
