Default Rough idle with cylinder misfire. Advice needed

Hey guys. Jaguar vdp with 94k miles on it. History of car is at 65k replaced upper timing chain tensioners, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs and seals, and fuel filter. All repairs done by a jaguar dealer.

Car runs smooth, but at red lights there is a small shake. Finally got a check engine code today and got a p0302. 2nd cylinder misfire. Also got a p1642 and p1316.

I am thinking i want my mechanic to check the ignition coil and move it and see if the misfire move with it. Also thinking that if the misfire doesnt move then it is not the ignition coil and probably an issue with the fuel injectors?

Or even a vaccuum leak?

Just would like advice on what i should have my mechanic do to save me on the labor. Thanks

How new is the battery?

Hard to say if it is safe to drive... could just be oil in the coil wells.

And to complete the picture, what are p1642 and p1316?

battery replaced in february 2009 at approx 69k miles? wondering now if i did have one code cleared a while back for low battery charge.

also think the p1642 has to do with my faulty abs module and the p1316 Fuel delivery pressure (low / high)
Fuel injector(s) restricted / leaking
Fuel injector(s) continuously open
which probably is due to the misfire..

my mechanicpulled 2 plugs and said there was some oil on them as well...just wondering where i should start on this problem as it can be so many things and i have read about people replacing coil after coil and still getting the misfire.

Read the definition of P1316 again more carefully.

It would not be caused by the misfire, but instead cause the misfire.

Oil on the plugs would set this MIL - it's new spark plug boss seals to cure that, P1316 refers to P1313.

plums, i do see that now..still learning a lot from this site. thanks for the heads up.

so to start i should have all 8 spark plug boss seals changed and leave the old spark plugs in as they are not that old? or if i am doing the seals should i have the splugs changed too?

so should i start with changing all 8 spark plug boss seals and check for a bad plug as well? and once that is done check if the problem still exists move on and check the coils? and if the coils are okay move to the fuel injectors?

and should i have them clean my maf and throttle body as well?

lastly, would i already need new valve cover gaskets if it has been 29k miles since they were replaced? thanks so much
