Actually this should be a prety simple one. The real problems requiring "those years of jag experience from everyone" arte when an intermittent snag gets you.
Step back for a minute- although the problem was reported to have come after the KN folter mod, and that was a good place to start using the "what happened last" troubleshooring technique, that is the only real reason to suspect the MAF.
Are you getting fuel pressure?
Do you have a CEL?
Have you looked at the fuel for water, while doing the pressure test?
What are the resukts of an engine compression test?
I suspect you will have determined the problem before you have completed these standard diagnostic procedures.

Did you have any OBDII code prior to or after. If not plug in your reader, start the car and try to duplicate the red light flash on the dash then see if it captured your fault. If you are revving the car in “N” ro “P” the car has a limiter to prevent it from revving over I think 3000rpm. Then check the TB plugs, clean and tighten them.
