Default S-Type Side Skirts on X308??

Has anyone tried fitting the S-Type side skirts onto an X308? The one thing that always throws me off is that the X308 doesn't have factory side skirts even.

The wheelbase for the X308 is 112", while the wheelbase for the S-Type is 114.5" so the difference is only a couple of inches. Any other side skirt, such as the X350, I believe would be too long. The wheelbase on the X350 is 119.4"...so the S-Type seems the closest.

I think Arden made/makes them for the x300/x308

The Arden ones arent that appealing to me...the Arden kit period isnt appealing. I like the J-Complete or Auto Couture ones. But even then, I cant justify paying more than I paid for the entire car just for a lip kit.

I am only wanting to add side skirts and the thing with going with an aftermarket one is that they flow with whatever kit they belong to. Adding an Arden side skirt (or any other brand) wont look good with stock bumpers. (All my opinion of course)

WHY ???

IF you have rusty sills ( rocker panels ) cut out the rust and weld in new panels or patches, do not try and disguise.

You may have some luck trying to find the XJ40 TWR body kit, the side skirts will be a direct fit, but the front/ rear skirts will be nowhere near a fit.

Who said anything about rust? I certainly didn't. I was asking because I want a more even body line on the bottom. The front and rear bumper are lower to the ground, while the rocker panel is up higher. So I was seeing if anyone tried fitting a side skirt to bring that area level with the bumpers.

XJRJag, did you ever make any progress on this matter?
I am contemplating making my own front splitter, side skirts and rear bumper skirts, or just bite the bullet and order a J Complete set.
Don't have to tell you about the cost for that though ...

Never went through with it. I imported an Auto Couture lip kit...front and rear lips as well as side skirts. Still haven't gotten around to getting it painted though. Thinking of selling it.

Thanks for the reply.
If it was a long base, i might have asked you for a price, but I presume the set was for a XJR, right?
I made up my mind in the last 3 days, and will order a Japanese Glanz set.
Needs more work to get it on perfect, but imo the most elegant looking on a XJ.

The AutoCouture kit that I have is for the SWB XJ8 / XJR. If you need one for LWB, I believe Glanz is one of your only choices...unless you modify the side skirts on another kit and lengthen them.

Right and thanks.
I considered to buy the parts seperate from different suppliers, but heck, I will go bankrupt on shipping.
So Glanz it will be ...

How much is the Glanz kit?

Have you got a link to their site?

Plums,

The situation is that the manufacturer & their dealers do not accept direct deals from outside Japan.
That means that I am limited to use a friend in Japan (which I bothered too many times already), or a proxy buyer.

I have used such proxy buyer several times in the last year satisfactory.
They of course add their own fee (5-10%), but they actually check the shipment (as far as in their reach), and repack for international shipment where needed.

If I estimate the purchase (it is an auction), plus the local transport to the proxy, plus their fee + inspection, I guess it comes to some USD. 1500 - 1800.
Then you will get your UPS transport + import duties added to that.

So, long story short, guess around USD. 2.000.
I do not have a direct link, but can help you further if you are seriously interested.

E.

Thanks for letting me know. No serious interest at the moment.

I was just wanting to learn more about it and perhaps see
more pictures.

Thanks!

Looks really good on the black one.

Was the cost you suggested for front, back and sides?

Yes, for a set of front, 2x sides, and 3pc. rear.

They separately have the trunk spoiler for USD. 300 plus plus plus, but I think that one looks horrible.

Might take some weeks to arrive.

You got more pics of the whole car? Looks an interesting wheel set-up.
