Default A sad day...

With Michigan winter fast approaching, and not having been able to save money for a winter beater, I have been left with no choice but to put my beloved XJR up for sale.

I will be back, though, as I have been bitten by the Jaguar and I like it. Hopefully with an X300 someday...

She's never seen snow, and I would hate to do that to her. Also, I do not have the funds to buy winter tires. I have a 60 mile round trip to work, on a rural road that is frequently traveled by reckless, overconfident 4WD owners, and is not exactly cleared very well in the winter.

Besides, my wife decided to go back to college rather than go back to work as was the plan when I bought the car. I'm struggling to make the monthly payment. It's time for her to go. The car, that is...

Shame Chad, sorry to see you go.

Hope the car goes to a good home and is looked after and loved.
Good luck with whatever you decide to go for next Chad

You've only been here a little while but racked up the posts and seemed to fit right in, but just remember, Jag owner or not, you're always welcome.

Best

Jim

Thanks, Jim.

I'm sure I'll still hang around. If I can convince my wife (translate: beg) to let me buy an X300 next February, that will be my goal.

I've got some X300 researching to do, after all...

Sorry to hear that , I don't know you but your number of posts suggest me you must be proactive member and this is why you should keep posting in other sections , ie Off Topic
I no longer own a Jaguar but keep visiting and posting here ,funny thing when I first completed my registration I didn't own a Jag either lol

Default Sad news indeed

Hi Chad,

I just read your post and am sorry that you have to sell your XJR. I wish there was some way that you could figure out how to keep her and get a beater for the Michigan winter but I know times are tough.
You have been a very active member here so please stay in touch even if you end up selling.
All the best to you.

Chad,

I'm sorry to hear the XJR has to go but that's no reason for you not to stick around.

Hope circumstances change and you're soon back in a Jaguar.

Graham

I should be able to find a decent X300 for a couple grand at tax refund time. Since I'll be buying a year round car once I sell the XJR, I won't have to worry about that with the next Jag. And I won't have any payments on the next one, either!

Sorry to hear this!

I have been in your shoes. It is not fun.

My wife just bought what she says is THE winning lottery ticket. It is a ten dollar Oregon lottery ticket that draws on 10/31. Prize is one million. If it is the winner, I will pay off your XJR AND get you a beater.

You have it in writing!

I should buy a few lotto tickets. If I had a million dollars, I'd have an X-Type for a beater and the XJR would go through a complete restoration...

Let's hope we win!

I'd also like an AWD X-Type for the winter.
