Default Sagging VDP picnic tables

The picnic tables on both of my setbacks tend to sag and not want to stay snug against the seat, as designed. All the hinges are riveted, so no obvious tightening available there. Anyone know the secret?

The rivets may need repunched, especially if kids were playing with them and were torquing on them, thus loosening the rivets. A shop with a proper set punch should be able to do this.
You should have resistance through the whole rotation out and back in. Compare with your other one to get the feel and determine where the issue may be.

Take 'em out, re-punch the rivets until stiff, replace tables. Got it, thanks. Unable to see a good example, because they are both loose and floppy, so I appreciate the should-be description.

Just curious how often were the picnic tables used on your VDP? My experience with two vehicles I've had them picnic tables, they were stiff as hell.
