same old topic for the low coolant issue
Hi, members
I have changed the new coolant level sensor and even flushed the reservoir and refilled with the official antifreeze from Jaguar
But the light is still on, I feel very frustrated about this situation, any information is appreciated. thank you

Look inside the reservoir to verify the magnetic float is indeed floating. You may have to suction out some of the coolant to be able to see it. It can get stuck on the internal hollow post with crud from the old coolant.
Beyond that you might disconnect the electrical connector to the sensor and jump the leads with a paper clip or something similar to verify that the wiring is not damaged. The ECM is looking for a closed loop on the leads to indicate a full reservoir.

The sensor is a magnetized float that moves up and down with the level of the coolant -- when the coolant level falls in the tank the magnet drops and trips the filament in the glass sensor inside the plastic sensor housing.
Its been a while since I replaced one but my memory is that you just get the sensor -- not the magnetic float. So you must make sure that the float inside the tank is actually floating with the coolant level -- they can get stuck as well no longer float.

More precisely, I meant that if you remove the electrical connector from the sensor and measure across the sensor terminals you should see a very low ohm short when the reservoir is full. If you are seeing that and still getting the low coolant display you can jump the connector back to the ECM with a paper clip to verify that the ECM is recognizing the short. Failing that you have a wiring problem.
I will bet it is crud on the hollow post the magnetic float is riding on preventing the float from correctly following the coolant level.

After I had the cooling system flushed and refilled by a local indy garage, the coolant warning came on and stayed for several days. I told the mechanic and he told me that the float sometimes get stuck after the service is done.
I got it to float by using a medium sized plastic spoon to stir the coolant in the reservior. The coolant warning light went out and I had no problems since.
Worked for me.
