Default Seat height? Way to get more?

I'm right around 5'10" and I have no issues with seat height with my XJR. My dad and some of my male friends are quite a bit taller in the 6'3"+ range. Has anyone modded their front seats for more headroom? Is there really any extra height in the seat frame to where I could cut it down or anything like that?

I'm not talking as far as floorpan mods (its 100% rust free and I hate cutting good factory steel), but what mods have people done to get more headroom?

I am 6'4" and find that I have plenty head of room with the seat back reclined a bit.

BUT - The interior of the XJ's are quite small compared to more modern cars, much less room than US autos and it is hard for some folks to get used to that. I prefer to think that the XJ is more intimate, lol!

My DD is an F-150 and going from that to the XJR is quite a jump, from loads of room to "intimate." Even my Ferrari has more headroom than my Jag and the Italians are not known for being generous with interior space in their cars.

I actually raised the seats 1" in my F car to get better driving position and outward visibility.

Short of removing the seat tracks and finding a way to bolt them directly to the floor I would try manipulating the seat adjustment to find a comfortable position.

(Or simply open the sunroof!)

With no sinroof you gain about 2 inches... But why would you ditch that?

I'm about 6'2" so a little taller than the average Briton and every so often have roof contact

I'm afraid that the tall drivers have two practical solutions : live with it, or buy an X350. I am 6ft 5", but tend to drive with the seat back quite reclined, so it is OK (just).

The seat is already really low to the floor, so I don't think there is much opportunity for lowering it further.

I prefer an aluminum body living is rustland; but the X308 to me is substantially better looking. I live with it just fine, so if I guess I can't give the car to my dad when I'm done with it lol.
