The electrochromic mirror was replaced 10 yrs ago when it failed, by the same OEM DONNELY mirror, yellow plug, on my 1999 x308 4.0 Sov.
It failed on que recently !
So I "upgraded" to an after market electrochromic mirror , looks even better than the Donnelly and costs 1/10th the price. The new mirror only uses 12v and ground, so I didn't need the other 3 or so wires.Hence it necessitated that I loose the auto headlights function, but I never used it anyway. I'm sure I could have wired it up somehow if I tried..
Anyway, the new mirror works perfectly , but I have lost the seat memory when I lock and unlock the car with the FOB. I haven't checked if there is a memory fuse that went out, but I will.
However I wish to ask if anyone knows if the electrochromic mirror is wired up with the seat memory????
Of the 3 wires I dispensed with in the mirror connector, one is auto headlights sensor, the other for side dimming mirror...but there was a brown one which is always positive in all jaguars...ie always on. 12v.
If this feeds to the seat memory, why the hell would it be going through the electrochromic mirror???
I will try a battery reset and check fuses in any case, hopefully do my done has an answer.
You'll have to do some tracing....
I am leaning on a blown fuse as well...but I wouldn't be surprised if there is a continuous 12v loop engineered into this.
You may have blown lh heelboard fuse 16. 10A. It feeds so many different things. You need to wire the new mirror to wires to WS and BK colored wires. WS in pin 1 and BK pin 3 at the yellow plug. BK is ground. In schematics from 1998 and 2000 there is no brown wires.
There is indeed a brown wire, see picture
White is ignition 12v, brown is continuous 12v on all jaguars.. black is ground
My new dimmer mirror only required white 12v ignition and black earth...all the rest were done away with. They were for side mirror dimmer, and auto headlights...neither which I need.
The new mirror works perfectly, except for the seat memory and side mirror memory that reverting to a null state.
I haven't had time to check for this fuse that is suspected to be the culprit, but an option would be to just disengage the seat memory module and mirror module if indeed this brown wire is a requirement for seat memory loop.. Obviously I would prefer to keep those active, so perhaps I connect this brown wire 12v to where it needs to go for seat/side mirror memory..
It could also be that this 12v always on brown wire is for some other module like a rain sensor or such that the car dosnt have..
If anyone has advice, I'd appreciate it. Ill see if I can search for that fuse this week.
Regards
Peter

Yes mines the earlier yellow one
I read previously if not mistaken that the later white had 8 wires, the yellow only 6. I count 7 on yours in the photo .
I'll check fuses 16 as you suggest.
