Default Secondary Tensioners has many posts on this forum

Hi
I am in the process of building webpages that have links to major issues that are posted on this forum. I have completed the webpage for the Secondary Tensioners issues.
Please use this website link to it:
http://members.***.net/jimlombardi/J...ensioners.html

You will be the first person to actually and hopefully get the benefits of it. Make sure you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the webpage.

On the bottom of the webpage are dropdown menus to forums posts and other articles (DIY, Posts, Comments, TSB's).
Hope this helps you.

Since the chain is broken you are going to need the cam lock down tool that is available for rent several places on the net. Some have had success renting from their local Ford or Lincoln dealer since they used the Jaguar engine in the Thunderbird and Lincoln LS. Set the flex plate to the timing mark, not TDC, and lock down the cams. That's all there is too it.

Jim Lombardi's link to his new informational system is intended to provide the info you need. If not, check the FAQ Sticky on the XK8/R forum alphabetically under 'Engine' then 'tensioners'.

Default Timing chain alignment tool rental

I found test point Jan 31 2010 post here on the forum - it says he replaced two tensioners and 4 bolts for less than $120.
Here the weblink to that thread and post:

test point (hi Tom)
Do you know what you paid at the Ford dealership parts dept for these parts? I like you to post here in this thread if you have the information about the part numbers.

Here is some more detailed information.
CHRISTOPHER'S FOREIGN CAR PARTS on Ebay or at his website rents the Alignment tool at a rate of $75 for 3 weeks. Has Upper Secondary Tensioner set for $299.00.
Link to his Ebay Item is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JAGUA...motiveQ5fTools

Link for his website is: http://stores.christophersforeigncar...StoreFront.bok

I understand Continetal Imports also rents the Alignment tool ($50??)and sells Secondary tensioners ($340??). Look at this forum post:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...41#post217341/

I will be adding this forum post reference to my webpage.

After shopping around on the net I ordered from Silver State Ford in April of '09. Tensioners were $51 and $57 and 4 bolts were $6. I did not replace the gasket set and have not had any problem with oil leaks.

FelPro now has the Lincoln LS or Thunderbird gasket set for under $40 for both sides from Advance AP.
