Default Self Dimming Mirror

Before I send my mirror away for the $75 rebuild, I want to know what to expect.

First, can you really see the effect of the dimming in the mirror when a car comes up behind you with bright lights??

Second, does anything else happen such as the outside mirrors dip down a little bit??

Default Additionally : Self Dimming Mirror

I tried sitting in the car in a dark garage at night with everything turned on. I shined a penlight into the photocell and saw no difference. Is thier a test for these things???

It's a subtle difference, but it's good. The worst problem is that eventually your mirror will begin to leak fluid which will trash your interior. Spend the $75. That's very cheap and good fix.
